So I have an egg chirping for the past 24 hours but no cracks. If I chirp on the outside it responds. How much longer? Do you think she’ll pop out by her self?

I pull them out as soon as they have chirping.. some chicks just won't make it out of the shell for one reason or another.

Where do you crack? The air sack? She hasn’t cracked the egg yet but she is peeping and mom is about done sitting the others have hatched already. So I figured if it hasn’t hatched by morning I’ll help the chick out. But didn’t know where to begin. If I tap on the egg it does a lot of peeping.

What day of incubation are you on? Please do not assist in hatching unless there is immediate need of assistance. I have incubated several clutches over the years and always hear chirping before hatching. Chicks need to completely absorb the yolk before hatching. Let nature take its course.....it will hatch when it is ready.
Happy Hatching!

You took it away from the broody hen?
Does she have other egg under there too?
I figured Aart would find me! No they all hatched on different days. The chirpy one was day 23 while black chick was day 21. The 2 reds where on day 22. The evening of day 21 it started chirping and so thats why I got nervous on the morning of day 22 and it wasn’t out then I got here 22 afternoon. This morning he was hatched. But yesterday momma was up walking. The coop with the other 3 and left left the egg behind. So I said I would sit the egg under mom again that night.
