Eggs enter the mail stream Tuesday expect receipt by Friday

I know opinions vary but how long should I let the eggs rest before starting incubation

I dont know if it varies by bird type, but quail is about 24h...

Okay so minor delay LOL the hatching eggs are finally in the mail be here by Monday I figured I'd let them sit for 24 hours and then start incubating. These are buff orpington eggs does anybody see an issue with a 24-hour set before starting incubation

Well they arrived only lost one egg this time tomorrow I'll be starting incubating

Oof, they didn't follow USPS fragile labeling requirements, that it be labeled with the word FRAGILE on all sides.

24 hours is a fine amount of time to let them set. Looks like it was a rough ride for those eggs.

Some of the eggs had moisture on the inside of the wrappings but I suspect that was from the busted egg leaking

wow what a rough ride for them, the place I order from has them in soft foam each in their own little hole with more foam on top of that.. I hate foam I will not touch it for the life of me. but they arrive safe

I have done this twice, the first time I did not wait and had and they developed

The second batch just hatched today, I got them on a thurs. I was going camping for the weekend and leaving fri, so I didn't want to put them in the incubator as I would not be there to turn them.
I put them in an egg crate pointy side down and tiled them every few hours, so a few hours or so leaning left few hours leaning right sometimes I would just take the eggs and just turn it all the way around not taking it out of the egg crate. So I got back Sunday and had my incubator set up, put them in Monday morning. 5 of the 6 hatched yesterday and today and one is taking it's time.

So that might not of helped any because I had a good hatch both times

2 eggs really dark inside candles all eggs as air pocket movement concerned me
