I guess my real question is, how long can eggs sit in room temp before they should go in the fridge? By all means we collect them everyday, but I've heard different facts like to let them sit out for 24 hrs before putting in the fridge and other people say to put them in ASAP? :/ lol I just wanna know what the true proper way of collecting the eggs would be temp wise and good to were I won't be making any serious mistakes... :/

if you don't wash them and preserve their natural protective layer, then you can leave them out for a week or two without worry.

They can stay out of the refrigerator a long time, but they do last longer kept cool. A hen going broody can lay up to two weeks before she actually goes broody. If the eggs didn't keep that long they wouldn't wait that long to sit.
