Eggs getting crushed by chicken stack

Ok, so my hens like to stack up on top of each other in the same nesting box and lay their eggs. On a normal day I walk in to get the eggs and find a chicken laying an egg with an egg on top of her! This is a problem for various reasons. Mostly because 1. The egg that the bottom girl is laying gets crushed under the weight, 2. Because sometimes the egg that is layed on top of her breaks and then I have an eggy chicken. And 3. It is causing one of the girls' feathers to break off because of the cramping in the 1'×1'×1½' nesting bow when there are 2 chickens in it, yet they still continue to both lay in the same box at the same time. It is becoming a problem because the only 2 chickens that do this lay after the other girls that lay separately lay their eggs, so the whole day of eggs is crushed. I have 24 nesting boxes yet they all lay in the same 2 spaces. This only happens with my australorp and my barred rock. How do I get them to lay in separate boxes?

Can you remove the divider between the used nest and the neighboring nest ? With more space there should be less breakage. Access to broken eggs may lead to your hens becoming egg eaters.
