My eggs from my hens are great. But I have noticed quite a few times, the end of the egg has a little dent or crack or hole in it, just little, as if it was cracked. I was thinking maybe since the eggs are so close together they hit and crack, they are not all cracked just l or 2. Does anyone know why, or is my feeeeeeling of it correct?

I read here on BYC that it is caused by impact with the bottom of the nest box. More nesting material should take care of it.

my hens do not use the nesting material, I have nice straw fresh they move it away until there is bare wood bottom and then lay, every time I replace it they move it again, do you know why? Seems to me their butts would get cold and I want them comfy. Also, some of my eggs sometimes are long and oval shaped, more oval shaped, almost point.
