I have a broody hen who started out with 13 eggs and before I was able to move her to her own coop, two of them were eaten. I assume the other chickens did this. We had the same thing happen a few years ago. But now some of her eggs have dried yolk and what not on them. Should I leave them? I don’t want to wash them with water but rubbing them with a dry cloth is not going to get the job done. She’s only been sitting on them for a week but I would hate to have to discard them.

I would just keep an eye on them and make sure the bacteria doesn't cause them to go rotten, but there’s a good chance that they’ll still hatch just fine, even with the dried yolk. I’ve had the same thing happen with some of my chickens and everything was fine.

Thank you! I moved her and her eggs yesterday and she still has 11 so I’m fairly confident it isn’t her doing the eating and now they should be safe. I’ll check them in a week and see how they look.
