Candling my eggs today its been a week. two of them had spots when i put them up to the light. but I really think that a chick is inside the egg. But I looked up what the spots meant and it said bacterial contamination? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? does it mean that the hen laying this egg is sick or what?

Not all spots are indications of bacteria. Sometimes it is just the variance of the shell and is seen only through the bright light. If the spots look to be floating in the egg or growing through the mebrane I would be more concerned.

I have seen many eggs with a spotty shell and nothing is wrong with them except the egg shell is spotty.

what day are you candling?
When I candle early like day 6-7 I see veins and yes "spots" moving around.

Just a good sighn they are having a party in the egg. LOL!
Now if its just a spot that does not do anything and seems to be just there, I might be concerned. But for good measure, do the "sniff test". If it is bad toss! If it does not smell like anything, leave it in and wait till day 14.
Hope that helps!
