Eggs?

It all depends upon how cold they get. Eggs are 'hardy' to fairly low temperatures, but freezing and cracking of the shell renders them non viable. When hatching eggs this time of year, I would always collect eggs two or three times daily.

x2. Last year I hatched chicks Jan 19, and it had been frigid out when the eggs were collected and I had 100% hatch rate.
More than once I've pulled eggs from the refrigerator to add to the incubator and most of them have hatched.
The exception seems to be bantam eggs which have a lower hatch rate when refrigerated.

It was in the mid 20's here today and the eggs where very cold but not frozen.
