Eggtopsy - Deformed Chick

So, I eggtopsied one of the eggs that did not hatch under my silky hen and this is what I found. Its brain is on the outside of its head and its beak is crooked. I have never seen a chick so deformed.

Thank you for sharing. We should have taken photos of ours too but we did not. One of our eggs did not hatch on time. We saw movement when we candled to see if it was alive, so we left it in the incubator for another couple days and there was no movement when we checked again...so when we opened it up, to our horror, there was movement. But the top half of the beak was missing, and it looked very similar to your photo except the yolk sac was more absorbed than yours and the brain was sticking out half as much. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO PREVENT THIS OR WHY THIS HAPPENS?
