Looking at getting an electric deterent for my coop and garden. The garden is next to the coop, so I should easily be able to power the fence off of one system. 280 feet around the whole perimeter for both areas. Thinking two heights, one at 6-12 inches, and another a few feet higher, maybe a foot from the top. Any suggestions on systems and placement of the wire? I will have a clean source of 110V power at the coop.

Thanks.

I use two different chargers, in my case I need a charger that does not require A/C power source.

Zareba SP-3 $105, solar powered charger for the fields and remote areas.

and

A cheap little $19 A/C powered unit for the chicken yard.

Either one is adaquate to do what you want.

I
would get the double spike version. It is more stable than the single.

This is what I am planning to use. I bought the horse fence style from them last year and I am amazed how well it worked!
The great part is that you can move it around so your lawn gets a chance to re-coop
