Should I leave poultry netting on at night? Chickens are locked up in coop. I thought he yes, so if anything bumps into the fence in the dark they would get a shock and move away. Husband says leave it off so if something gets tangled at night they don’t gets shocked and panic and rip it up.

I leave mine on day and night unless it gets grounded by snow. I do that to deter night time predators that may come back during the day to have a go. They won't do that if they get popped in the night.
I've had deer rip it down three times and one young buck was killed in it.
There is a price to pay whichever choice you make.

I used to leave mine on day and night too. We had a light on the top of one of the posts so we knew that it hadn’t shorted out by a tree branch or something.
We learned to do this the hard way - Once it shorted out and we didn’t know and the next morning we were less two hens (rip Francesca and rip Hanna)
Once a friend bent down to pick up and apple, touched the fence and the apple flew across the garden. It was hysterical- never forgotten and always recanted after a few glasses of wine 😂
