Electric netting ?

I used the netting until a deer decided to get caught up in it one day and ruined it. Took 4 Fish and Wildlife officers to get that deer untangled. For the 3 years I used the netting I lost no birds to 4 legged predators. I thought about replacing the netting but figured another silly deer would decide to itch his head on a post again. We have a lot of deer here and their normal trail goes through the property.

Rather than do the netting again I figured it was cheaper to just make the coop and run into Fort Knox. The run is made from hardware cloth, has a roof over it, and has a 3 foot hardware cloth apron. The 4 chickens I have never leave the run anymore as I find the fox on my outdoor cameras nearly every night. We have a lot of fox too.

I will say that I loved that netting. Loved watching the chickens free range safely inside the netting. Feel kind of sorry they can't be let out anymore.
