We are new to this and are not sure about this.. we have electric poultry netting with a standard charger and need to run it in our backyard but have a storm creek that runs through it and sometimes gets rather full, will this short out our netting? Thanks for all of your help :)

I am not an electrician but I would say the charger would shut down with the netting in water. They usually have a built in fuse or breaker to prevent serious damage. Always best to use GFI outlets whenever your device is anywhere near water which can be reset when things dry out.

Yeah, it would definitely short out. Another thing that would not be so good for the fence, is all the debris that would wash up and into the fence, and possibly destroy it.

I have a creek that runs through my yard too. Can you attach regular chicken fencing to the electric fence for the part that has water? Or some other type of netting?

thanks everyone.. we decided to just put it on the other side of the ditch.. little further from the house then we wanted but it will work out just fine :) thanks again
