Hi All!

I must admit something dreadful....really dreadful....

I am a lurker!
I have been lurking on here for about 6 months and finally got enough gumption to join.
So on to to the sample questions...

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Very new as a matter of fact. Just got handed 9 roos and 8 hens (all banty's) and had to scramble to get a coop up and going for them. They all range between 11months and 2 years. Then on top of everything else, went and ordered 25+1 chicks from MMH and just got them settled.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
9 roos, 8 hens, and 22 assorted chicks. (We lost two of the white banty's, one black australorp, and one of the yellows (either Cornish rock or roaster, since I can't tell them apart.)
(3) What breeds do you have?
The adults are all inbred banty's, and the chicks are varying amounts of black australorps, cornish roasters, cornish x rocks, white cochin bantam, and one free 'rare' who I have no clue what breed it is.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
My friend who I got the chickens from. She said there was this awesome site out there, and I looked you up months ago.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Let's see, I do every type of craft except glass blowing, and I hope to take a class on that next year. I read avidly, when I am not gardening, getting wedding stuff taken care of, or watching 'Farm TV' on my soon-to-be inlaws property.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am a really happy go lucky person, and while I may not always appreciate the paths I find myself on, I can always stop and smell the roses. I have a wonderful fiance, Walter, and his daughter, Jennie, to keep me sane thoughout all the tumbles we've had to roll with lately. I am getting married to Walter in September, and I couldn't ask for anyone more special in my world. I have two cats, Cowboy and Moon, who are just now getting used to the outdoors, and I am a homebody. I am very into permaculture and free-range animals, but having to deal with the in-laws' rules means that I cannot do as I want to, even if the animals and the earth would benefit from it. Not sure what else to say...
