Last Sunday I took a road trip. I harvested the hatched chicks and tossed them in a brooder with a training chick from the previous weeks hatch. I was on the road by 430am. I returned at 530pm on Monday evening to discover that I hadn't turned the incubator back on before I left. It had been off for 36 hours. The temp was 82F.

Other than slowing them.down most every.egg out of the more than 2 dozen i set for hatching have externally popped and a handful are running around in the drawer.

Just an example of how tough incubated eggs are.

@sourland Probably helped that I use the Leahy redwood incubators. The mass of those incubators probably resulted in a logarithmic temp drop rather than a straight line drop. Also 2 week old embryos self generate heat. The truth teller will be the one week old embryos.
