Yesterday we had a pretty bad storm. My neighbor found some eggs that had already started pipping. One is still breathing but the other’s air cell is horizontal. I candled it and I’m unsure if there’s any movement. I think they are doves but I can’t be sure. I put them in the incubator but I don’t know what my next step is. Any help?
the eggs are white and a bit smaller than a bantam chicken egg

They look like dove eggs. You will need to find a bird rescue rehab place to take them. If they are doves they are really hard to care for as chicks, and most species of wild doves are illegal to have. How long has the one been zipping? It should be out by now, it only takes 20 minutes at most for them to zip.

Yes, it’s out now. I have confirmed that it’s a dove. The nearest rescue rehab is about thirty minutes away, and we have been practicing social distancing. Our county is in lockdown as well so I’m not sure that I can go out- nor does my family want to since the location of the rehab has the most cases near us. The nest was also destroyed among the storm and the doves are gone. My father used to take care of baby birds when he was younger, and has specifically raised doves. I’m unsure of what to do.

Is your father going to take them then? It's best for someone experienced to take them. Do you know what type of dove?
