Emergency disease

we recently got 9 chickens from someone who passed away. This weekend we had one of our previous chickens pass away. We now have another hen that is very warm, not wanting to eat or drink. She does still have her balance and is aware. Any ideas on what could be going on

Did you quarantine the chickens before integrating them into the original flock? The new flock could have transmitted a disease to your original flock.

Unfortunately this time we didn’t. We always do but we have other chicks in our quarantined area so we just put them in. It was a mistake on our behalf.

Sorry for your loss. If you have another that passed, have it necropsied for find out for sure what's causing the deaths. Those that you have in quarantine now, I would not add to the existing flock until you find out what's causing the deaths.

The comb is a normal temperature

Thank you for the advice. We aren’t going to add them as a safety precaution. Plus they are chicks so to young to go with them

No she is not panting just warm to the touch
