Sorry for long post. I am desperate to help my hen Maleficent. She has been unwell for a few weeks. She lost interest in normal food, and would drink lots. I thought she may have impacted crop or sour crop but nothing smells. She was pooing out clear liquid, milky liquid, sometimes poo with grass and undigested seed. I read and read and thought she may have clostridium perfringen. Any how I am in Australia and can not get antibiotics without seeing vet. Today though I have noticed her bum pulsating and it pushing out with some drops of blood. She turns to pick at her bottom when it happens. I just soaked her in epsom salts and put her in a crate on a towel
She just let out like a squeal and then went back to drinking. I do not want to lose another one I am so heartbroken
💔
She has been wormed, cocci treated in ladt two weeks.

1) What type of bird , age and weight (does the chicken seem or feel lighter or thinner than the others.) Australorp 2.8kg around 3.5yrs old , yes lost about 1kilo in 2 weeks
2) What is the behavior, exactly?
Not eating, watery poo, milky poo and now pulsating bum with blood dripping. Poo also with undigested seed.
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms? 2 weeks or 3
4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms? No
5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma. No
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation. I have had nothing but trouble with my chooks. I am at my wits end and can't afford the vet anymore.
7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all. Just finished cocci meds and now on electrolytes and probiotics.
8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc. Water, milky water, sometimes brown liquid with a bit of grass and undigested seed.
9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far? wormed, cocci meds and Epsom salt bath
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet? I just lost a chook and spent of 1k on it at vet I can't afford to go again.

12) Describe the housing/bedding in use
Coop with shell grit and sand floors. Wooden roosting bars.

She might have a reproductive infection or disorder, but digestive problem or gizzard issue may be possible. Cancer is common in hens at that age, and that or a crop issue may cause weight loss. What are you feeding her? Do you give granite poultry grit? Crushed oyster shell will not help the gizzard grind seeds and grains. I would limit her diet right now to wet chicken crumbles or pellets, and some egg. Check her crop and let us know how it feels, and if it empties overnight by morning after not eating for 8-10 hours. Have you wormed her recently?

Yes wormed her. She will not eat much at all. Maybe some grated apple in yoghurt and a little boiled egg.

Their normal feed is crumbles and seed.

Just woken up, crop feels empty and she was eating a little but then making that gagging and stretch neck move.
Then literally watched her poop out a bit and squeal and she keeps squealing trying to poo
