My cockerel, 8 weeks, was horribly attacked by my hens when he managed to get into their pen...Is there any chance I can save him? Is it even humane to try? Please help..I have him quiet and alone right now. I've treated more minor injuries but I don't even know where to start here...

I had a Old English game hen in about that shape and she made it. It really looks worse in a couple days. She never appeared to be in shock. I sprayed it with blu-kote and gave her some tylan50 for a few days----In a month her skull was skinned over. She continued being a great broody mom.

He's now resting in a quiet spot, applied Blue kote and gave him a drop of Nutri Drench...I will see if I can go pick up some tylan50 and continue reading to see if I'm missing anything I can do to help. Thank you

You would be amazed at what chickens can heal from.
Keep him warm, pedialyte in a syringe, poultry vitamin drops on his tongue
Talk to him, they know when someone wants to help them live.
Egg yolk, my girl really took to it.

Should I set up a heat lamp? How warm should he be? He's in a warm bathroom at the moment. Thank you!!

Also, so sorry - I've been looking for dosage for pedialyte and I can't find a solid one. What is a safe amount?

Yes you can use a heat lamp, just far enough away for ambient warmth on him
Pedialyte is sold in the store for babies.
Just put some in a syringe from the pharmacy and give him as much as he will take.

He made it through the night and seems to be doing really well, given the circumstances :) I will continue to update

Ohhh I am so glad because I didn't see this post until this late a.m.
Does he feel warm.
Is he drinking the pedialyte ?
Is he pecking at food ?
Thanks.
