Emergency! Please Help Quickly!!

My two ducks just beat my rooster up and he's not looking very good. He can stnad up and drink, but is unsteady on his feet. What I'm worried about, though, is that he's really having trouble breathing; his beak is open and his head bobs with every breath. Does this just mean he's worked up from being attacked or does it mean he has a hole in his windpipe or some other internal injury?

I think worked up from the attack.
Keep a close eye on him and if he doesn't settle any within a couple hours you may want to have him vet checked.

Whenever I have a chicken that gets hurt in fight or even overheats in this hot weather I place in my cool basement. They can breathe better and cool down.
If you have to quickly cool off a bird you can place it in a bucket of cool water. Fastest way to get the bod temp down.....
Ducks and guineas can be mean to other birds and if they target one in particular you may have to move it to another pen. good luck!

Shock would be very possible after such an attack. Put him in a quiet place, warm if he's cold, cool if he's hot. Get him to drink. It may take a few days to perk back up. Make sure he eats and drinks. Good luck, sounds like he just needs to get over it. He's probably going to be sore too.

He's in a quiet place, seems to be okay as far as temp and is still drinking every time I offer him water (will not drink if it's not right up at his face). He also crowed this morning, which surprised me, and his eyes are shiny, not dull and glazing over.
On the other hand he's just sleeping deeply most of the time and hasn't walked around at all. He has only woken up twice this morning and stood up both times, but can only stand for a few minutes before he gets tired, sits down, and goes back to sleep.
He doesn't seem to be in pain from what I can tell, but if he is I hate to make him suffer if he's not going to snap right out of it.
Does this still look like just shock/stress or some kind of internal injury, and what kind of chance does he have?

did you put electrolytes in his water? If it is hot where you are putting him in a cooler place will also help.

Chances are he will have some bruising and be sore for a few days.

As was suggested I would sure give some elecrolytes on his water. They can be found at the feed store and are water soluable

He should make a full recovery but it will take time. Make sure that he stays hydrated and keep him to himself for a day or two.

In the off chance that there could be internal damage do not give asprin for pain. It could increase bleeding if there is any present.

I haven't been able to get electrolytes yet; would Gatorade work?
He's in the house so heat isn't a problem.

yes but just a stop gap... please get proper electrolytes as soon as you can.
