Aww, friends will be with it soon! Are you using a heat lamp, heat plate, other? Sometimes they're extra squeaky when they're cold.

I love my heat plates, you do have to lower them to the point where it almost looks like the chick wouldn't fit under it in order for the warmth to reach tiny quail hatchlings. I usually wait for them to be more sure footed before I handle them a bunch because they need to rest after all that hard work hatching.

Is he still squeaking a lot? You could try resting your hand near him on it edge of the heat plate, to see if it gives him and comfort, and to start getting him used to your hand.

thanks. ive tried holding him but i dont want to get him to attached because i have school and need to be gone a lot. (dont worry, i have some one watching him while im gone)
