emergency. sick chick advice welcome.

Hi there

one of our 8 week old chicks are sick! he/she has brown diahorea not yellow. It hasnt eaten since yesterday morrning and i havemt seen it drink yet. It seems listless and mooching around. Pecking at ground now and then but if it picks up good it is dropping it again. I have mixed acidiphoulos into their water and i am going to attempt getting it to take some natural yoghury with charcoal mixed in.

Totally at a loss and vet says wait and see!!

diarrhea is usually a sign of coccidiosis. If you have a vet, you can probably bring them a fecal sample to check for coccidia. It probably wouldn't hurt to treat with a terramyacin powder. Petsmart sells a very palatable one to dissolve in water, its called ornamyacin.
