I don't know how much time you have between the warning and the actual dangerous conditions, but you should definitely choose your own safety first.

I cannot say what will be better for your geese, but don't endanger yourself by trying to change it in dangerous conditions. This is not just selfishness, because if you keep yourself safe you are better able to care for the geese tomorrow and in the future.

If that is what they have then letting them decide is best. stay safe. My thoughts are with you and your family. I would grab a mattress off a bed climb in tub and cover up.If to many folks for the tub take mattress and hunker down in hallway covering with mattress.
