A little on the crazy side.
Hi Guys,

I really need help

Before we went on our holiday my cat was missing, now, as we are back, he came back the day before we returned. Thoughts are maybe he got hit by a car……………

His right hip seems dislocated, and his leg/foot have no use at all, they are just flopping around, so I think it’s broken.
His joint seems swollen and he feels warm.

The vets are not open, he seems to be in a lot of pain!

I merely managed to splint his leg, as he seems to be so sore, it was hard. I love this cat to pieces, he follows me around everywhere, and he keeps doing that even with this problem………………which isn’t exactly good.

Im so stuck on what to do, the vets are shut (As it is Good Friday) It’s the evening now, and he’s just meowing out, can anyone help?

I also notice on his front paw it’s blistered and there is blood. He is also missing skin on his injured leg

I also read I cant give him human pain killers……………….

Its very much appreciated

Awww poor buddy :hugs

Really, all you can do us try to comfort him, as he's probably in quite a bit of pain... Are there any emergency vets in your area? Might cost more, but he really needs to see a vet and get that leg reset before it starts healing wrong :(

What a trooper though! Hopefully he can hang in there until you can get him some help. Cats are pretty tough, but it does sound like he was hit by a vehicle :(

I third the vet idea. However, in the mean time I would try to confine him to a small area such as a dog crate. This will help keep things from worsening due to movement.

You are right that you cannot give him human pain medications. Cats can only have a very few pain meds and human meds can kill them.

The most important thing for him right now is pain relief.. Surgery (if that is the road you and your veterinarian choose to follow after taking a better look at the injuries) usually does not have to be immediate, but a veterinarian will need to help manage his pain. I would also be worried about damage to blood vessels in that leg, along with possible open fractures. These are all things your vet can evaluate to come up with a good plan for you to help him.

Hopefully everything works out well for him but keep us updated.
