I have six Red Sexlinks and three nesting boxes. They seem to use the two end nesting boxes, no problem. The center nesting box keeps getting cleared out of all the nesting material, straw? Unusual behavior? Any explainations? Not a major problem, just curious. Thanks!

What do they look like? Are they homemade? Wood? Do they have a lip in the front? If not maybe you could put one on somehow.

Just trouble shooting.

Homemade wooden nesting boxes with a lip to keep straw in. What is curious it is just the one nesting box?

Here is a better pic of the nesting boxes under construction showing the lip. They were also used in my old coop without this happening?

Hummmmm. You have a lip on it. The only thing I can think of is to make the lip a little higher. My one BA would kick A LOT out when she first started to lay. Now she's firgured out what was happening and she's not so rough and anxious.

Maybe some one else has some ideas.
