Hello earlier this year I bought a 10 to 12 year old pair of emus to add to the flock (total of 7 emus today). I live in Michigan and am not sure when the laying season is here. Last year I bought eggs here in Michigan in February (some of the eggs were laid christmas time, late December). I’m positive I have at least one female. My question is when will she start laying?

Birdmanmax, since you are in a colder climate, I'm going to guess your females will start laying a bit layer than usual. They can lay into late spring but there are so many variables in play here, its a new home to them so they may be getting their ground work in, I would be looking for eggs by end of January but please remember emus are emotional and any upheaval can stop any mating/egg laying until they are settled and totally confident in their new home.
