Emus need a lot of land and have generally been bred to be docile. DO NOTE: They can be very mean, and should never be around small children. Never let your guard down around these birds, females are especially aggressive during the mating season annually.

No matter how tame wild emus are -- the adult in this photo will practically climb into your lap -- there are two things they don't like: you seeing them sitting down, and you knowing where they're roosting. This is Uno Chick, a female adult playing Daddy, and two 18-month-old chicks, orphans.
