trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole overkill? Or will it be fine? Also, the
trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole doesn’t fully dilute into the water, as I can see the little specs on the bottom. So I have to constantly mix it. Is that okay? If I put the solution into their waterer, how am I sure that they’re getting the meds if its on the bottom of their waterer and not diluted?
CoccidiosisWhat are you trying to treat?
I have alrdy been giving them trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole. How long do I have to wait to clear their system so that I can switch to Endocox? And I have it in powder form, not tablet. I was told 2.5 grams/Gallon water.Yes, it's overkill. Endocox should take care of your coccidiosis problem. Follow the instructions.
Use the SMZ-TMP only as a last resort. IF it's tablet, it should be quartered according to weight and given orally, not mixed in water. For example, a 5 pound bird would be given 1/4 tablet orally. Depending on the size of the tablets, you may have to cut the one quarter piece in half in order to administer it orally so the bird can swallow it..
