I have been working with chickens for a number of years. Recently, I decided to begin to share my experiences and potentially save some people some trouble.
I am an amateur engineer, around agriculture most of my life. However, I make my living in technology. I currently have about 130 hens and a few roosters. Black Australorp, Plymouth Rocks and Speckled Sussex chicks. I keep them penned in a 3 acre pasture where they spend their days scratching and basking in the sun. The next breed to come into rotation will likely be Buff Orpington.
We sell eggs and broth on the farm that we make ourselves. This year brought 3 experimental turkeys for Thanksgiving.
I certainly hope that I can bring some help and pleasure to the community.
