You guys ever sit quietly and watch your flock get settled in for the night? My goodness, my chickens are something else. I've got 6 pullets, and one 7' long roost. This is how it goes every evening: 2 pullets will jump up on the roost and huddle to the very end near the door. 3 other pullets will clearly have a problem with this as they circle under them, looking up at them, cackling at them. They will cackle back & fourth until finally the one furthest from the edge jumps down and one of the 3 takes her place. Then they continue cackling and rearranging the order, until about 15 minutes have passed and they all seem satisfied and quiet. Meanwhile, the 6th is huddled in the nesting box...obviously not amused by their drama. :lau This is literally every night, and I never get tired of watching lol!

:gig throw a mama hen trying to teach her babies to perch in the mix and the chicken show gets better lol

Who knew chickens had such personalities?! lol
ikr. Had I known this I'd gotten them years ago. I can hollar at my Henrietta and tell her lets go look for bugs and she'll come running. I have to be careful not to trip over her lol. The all have different personalities. Only thing all of them have in common is they like corn and they'll chase each other over scraps that I throw out lol. Love watching chicken football.

lol I'm not sure of the name of the bug that mine chase and won't eat. They're black with a little red on their back and they fly. I bring out the feed bucket to fill and sit in down on the ground. my roosters will come running and start hollaring for the girls to come and eat. They think that they've found food for all the hens lol. It's the say ole feed that's in their coop but just sat on the groud lol.
