Er...Hello?

They're really pretty, thank you for sending me a picture.
Have you ever had Rhode Island Reds?
If I were to be getting roosters and I got one Rhode Island Red, but wanted another one from a different breed, what would you suggest?

No i haven't,this is my first time having birds. I will be ordering more in spring time.Probably just meat birds tho.

I have four hens but absolutely no idea what kind they are for sure. One is white (Leghorn?) 2 are brown/red (RIRs?) and one that is black, but with teal, purplish and green feathers (she's gorgeous and huge). Wish someone could tell me what they all are if I post pictures of them.... anyone?

Well, thanks to BantamFan4Life's coop pictures, I now know what breed all my hens are because Brent has some of the same ones I have. Thank you Brent! Great descriptions and pictures. You've really helped me. I love BYC - it's so helpful!

Thanks. :)
Do you know of a good breed that has good roosters?

I have a Sussex rooster--you can see him in my avatar with my 3 year old grandson. he has a good disposition and very protective of the ladies (and pretty good at egg fertilization)
