Just an hour ago, I had let my sister's 2 female ducks out, trying to get them to swim in our little bit of the lake. They enjoyed it, filtering the water through their bills and socializing with wild ducks... ...Then they swam past a tree hanging off of the shoreline, following a few wild mallards, and disappeared. My sister started freaking out, and I had to climb around the fence (the lake is low right now, so I just got down on the shoreline) separating my property from the neighbor's to get them back. I had to shoo them back to our side of the lake, and with a little scratch feed, carry them back into their pen, and console my sister, who at the time was "mourning" the loss of her ducks. The ducks are now in their pen swimming in the kiddie pool, safe and sound.

Yeah, about that, I let them out of their pen and tried to get them to go in the lake. They are homebodies most of the time, and are pretty much inseperable.
