Essential oils and chickens

I LOVE essential oils and have a friend who is quite knowledgeable about their use in humans. However, I would worry about using them directly on birds. I have read of folks who use just a few drops in a spray when they are cleaning coops. I have never tried it; if someone has successfully done so, it would be great to hear how much and what oil was used.

There is an essential oil vet named Dr. Janet Roark who has tons of information on how to use essential oils safely with birds. Most importantly is high quality 100% pure eo only. A lot of them say 100% pure but they put fillers in them. If you use the high quality and follow safe procedures they can be very beneficial! You can follow her on FB and IG.
