Evaluating BLRW plumage early? (pic HEAVY)

I'm not good at sexing them so I can't help you there.I'm glad your pleased with them .You'll really like them when they grow out.The parents all came from top lines and I love my flock.Cara is 100% correct that the lacing will change on them as they grow and go through different stages.Mine went through a ugly stage also but when they came out of it I was very happy with them.

So true! Impossible to pick out the best early. They are slow to mature and change dramatically along the way! One thing I have noticed along the way is that it seems the chicks at this stage with more defined lacing end up roos and the more mottled lacing end up hens. Has anyone else found this to be true?
Here's some 3 week old chicks. These 2 ended up blue hens with gorgeous lacing:

THANKS everyone!!! This thread has been very encouraging for me, (excpet maybe I have mostly roosters! LOL Oh well. That seems to be what I am hatching here at home this year. Too bad I am not into a certain prohibited sport. I'd be doing cartwheels.
