We had North American porcupines, they are good pets when bottle fed.

We have African Crested Porcupines now and they are awesome.

All I can say is "OUCH"! What happens when you get up in the middle of the night just to step on porcupine butt? OUCH!

spectrum- your whole entire ranch is AWESOME. A week staying there, working my butt of taking care of your animals, would be a vacation for me. Seriously.
But, I like the africans way more then I do ours over here. The africans are beautiful and don't look like fat little beavers.

rodriguez- Never even gave that a thought, but I do agree! It looks like the one in the video doesn't have the spines on it's backside? Or maybe the porcupine just had them in a "rested" state. Who knows.

The only orcupine I would have is the lace bobbin porcupine...the one I can stick or prick my needles on!

An acquaintance of mine in high school used to have a pet porcupine. We went to a residential high school though, so I never was able to meet the little guy.
