Ever heard of a book called 'The Shepherd of Hermas'? (no googling :))

I wonder - has any one ever heard of this book? It was written in early Christian times. Wondering if anyone recognizes this title - without google!

I'm writing a fictional story about this book - so am curious if anyone is familiar with it.

It has been a while but I am familiar with it I have read a number of books that were at one time considered to be included in the cannon of scripture for the christian faith. most folks do not realize the apocrypha was in the KJV for a while it was too hard for most of King James 's preachers to preach from they took it out LOL

Can anyone who knows of it, comment on what it was about or what was in the book?

Or even, if you know, why it was removed from the Bible?

(aprophet, most of those texts were removed from the Bible 1300 yrs before the King James version was published).
