Well you won't see one here.... He was just being too stubborn to get up on the perch cause I was still in the coop... I thought this was cute though!

They gotta be related. My rooster always sits in the nest box. I think it's because he likes the straw. He never breaks the eggs. Just sometimes he won't get out for the hens to lay and they lay on the floor.

I havent seen an actual broody roo but one of mine goes in the nest box with his sweetheart as she lays her egg. He also gives the babies "chicken rides" where they climb up on his back then he leans over and the chick slides down his head and prompt circles around to climb up and do it again. I sure wish I had a video of this. This same roo allows the babies to snuggle with him on the roost now that their mama started rejecting them.
Here are two of his white babies snuggling up to him on the roost, one is on his back

LOL Very cute roo's

My black silkie rooster goes into the nest box and makes his little call I think he is telling his wifes to come lay their eggs for him..LOL

I love his little cluck to them he even arranges the pine shavings around for them!!! If he does not like them he throws them out..LOL
