My step son was tromping around in the woods this morning when he stumbled across this little one:

Of course, he couldn't keep his hands off. He brought it to the house thinking it was an owlet. I snapped a quick picture and we walked it back to where it was found, where there was another chick. We could hear momma or daddy calling and all is quiet now, so hopefully their little family is reunited and happy.

We have gobs of them in our woods, I hear them every night, quite close to our house, but I've never had actually seen one before! I figured most other folks probably hadn't either, so I thought I'd share

They are everywhere here. The sit right outside the house and sing all night.

CUTE!!!!
I love hearing them when I am in Arkansas (my avatar).
You did the right thing returning it. Its a myth that the momma/pop
wont accept babies back after being touched....

I've edited to add a couple more pictures I took. We walked down to check on the little one since it started pouring rain and we were worried. Mom/dad was sitting on them and they were in a nice, dry little nest. I wasn't quick enough to get a picture of the adult bird though, it was adorable
