Evergreens branches

What do you all think of using cut up evergreen branches in the chicken house as litter? I use a deep litter method.

I'd use them. They'll probably make the coop smell lovely!

I wouldn't........ the sap will get all over everything, short needles can be sharp on chicken feet.
