This was just after he attacked the puppy...for chasing the hens. sigh.

He is beautiful. Hope the puppy is ok. Bet he won't chase the hens again or at least for awhile.

Yeah the puppy is okay. I kinda felt like between a rock and a hard place-- I had gotten after the puppy for chasing the chickens...I have gotten after the rooster for flogging...but the rooster was taking care of the puppy...I just let it happen. The puppy was okay and he quit chasing hens...

I jsut don't know what to do.

Satan...thats funny... someone gave me an old hen last year, and she never laid for me...I always told her she better be eating lots of bugs to earn her keep then...last weekend I named her finally...told her her name was Useless... so guess what, she started laying 3 days later! LOL...too funny. Apparently verbally abusing chickens works!

the rooster was just doing its job, to protect his hens. My rooster OWNED one of my cats the other day for the same reason.
The cats was alright, but she won't be chasing chickens anymore.


Too true about the verbal abuse of hens working. At 5pm today I collected the eggs, I got 5 out of 6.

I went into the field and said, "I don't know who didn't lay today, but I'm very disappointed." LOL I went back inside and at 5:30 I heard a few verses of the egg song, result!
