started with a kit, at the time for two chickens. (extreme left on first picture) super expensive and started breaking down immediately. Started immediately on another nesting area and medium-sized run for six chickens. (right side of first picture)

kept hitting shoulder/back of neck going in and out of the thing. I'm really tall, so I separated the two units and created a 7' middle portion I could walk in and put feed down. (middle portion of first picture)

the "kit" was breaking down really bad after three years, decided to put up a shed. converted with access to the run via a door and ramp. Still tired of crawling through the run to clean it out, so last weekend I demolished the add- on run/nesting box and made a very large run. nine chickens use it and are a lot happier! don't make nearly the racket they used to, are much calmer.

Welcome to BYC Stan!

Great illustration of how many start ...then what they end up with.
