Exchequer Leghorn Pullet?

Margaret is a very friendly and curious five month old bird and has started growing a beautiful comb in just the last two weeks. Today I left the patio door open because it was so lovely outside and she came inside and found her way onto the kitchen chandelier. That's when I took pictures and wondered -- is she a he???

At 5 months her sudden comb growth means she's getting ready to lay. I see a pullet.

That would be great. I know that six months is typical but my elders aren't interested right now so I didn't consider an early bloomer.

It's 2019 now and I haven't kept up apparently. She was hatched on 8/6. Five months. Does that change your reaction?

That is definitely a pullet. Leghorn Bree’s are quick to let you know their gender. My leghorn cockerel that I had had a comb bigger than that at 3 weeks of age and was attempting to crow.
