Excited about roosting!

The lowest roost in my coop is about 3 feet off the ground. I had discovered my Barred Rock chicks could get up there but they continued to sleep in a pile in the corner. I had read several folks say it was 10-12 weeks before theirs had started using the roost. But when I went to close up the coop last night I peeked in and my seven week olds were up on the highest roost all bunched up together. Funny what we get excited over.

And funny that they do it all on their own! I was floored when I saw my 3 tottered up the ladder at dusk and perched themselves on the roost. I had never helped them do that! It was so cool!
