In the Brooder
I am in central Texas and I am new to chicken keeping. I am looking forward to being able to sit down and read through the wealth of information on keeping my flock healthy and happy. I am open to the easiest way of doing things!
I have a backyard coop and run that my husband built for me from scratch. I added 14 chickens which I am raising for eggs. They consist of 2 black jersey giants, 4 rhode island reds, 4 buff orpingtons, 2 barred rocks, and 2 white leghorns. They are 8 weeks old as of yesterday. I know I have one male leghorn and one hen, but am unsure of the reds and orpingtons. I'm hoping to get some help with that as I read and learn more. The jersey giants are both hens.
