Hello and welcome to BYC!
When building a coop you want to make sure each chicken has at least 4sq ft of coop space, 1 linear ft of roost, 10sq ft of run space, and 1sq ft of ventilation. Also 1 nesting box per 3-4 hens. Make sure you don't have a drafty coop, especially cause of where you're located.
