Hi. My name is Jama, and I live in a wonderful neighborhood with some of the best neighbors you can imagine. We started doing community dinners several months ago and are now attempting to start helping one another out more. One gentleman and his wife are taking on hydroponics so we can grow some foods during the winter. Another couple is taking on grain sprouting and sourdough bread making for the group. And I have always wanted to have chickens, so I volunteered to be the local chicken and eggs gal- which is ironic because I am allergic to eggs. But I love animals and I have been wanting to build a coop and start raising chickens- and I love most of what all chickens do for my garden, so this was a great opportunity to get started.
So that is how I find myself here. We live in the city and have a wonderful fenced in back yard with some garden beds. Now, I have the winter to do research on the best option for a coop to build and then start finding some chicks and chickens for us to get started with.
