I have 4 shipped hatching eggs that have hatched in the last 24 hours. All are pure brahma chicks from a mixed color group. So, two of my chicks are fine. One has a lump on its head with a slightly messed up eye( otherwise seems fine) and the 4th chick's brain is exposed, no eyes and a deformed beak. It's pretty traumatic to see. So my question is how do I know if it's genetic? I tried to find an answer, but basically come up with it's possibly genetic or environmental. These are not my first chicks to hatch this year using all the same setup and all of my eggs were shipped hatching eggs, but this is my first brahma eggs.
