My 12 year old son was given 7 more hens (4 barred rocks, 1 rhode island red and 2 white plymouth rocks/barred rocks), to go along with his original flock of 18. He was also given a small coop as well. We had some old dog fencing we weren't using, so we used it to expand our chicken yard. As you will see, my son was pretty tired after we were done (he could only produce a fake smile). But now he has more chickens to lay, so he will be adding new customers to his egg selling list. A responsible kid is a happy kid, in my book!!

Thank you all!! My son is very responsible and he does a wonderful job with the chickens. He understands they they rely on him for life. He also is learning the business side of things. He knows not to blow all of his earnings once he gets them. Half of the money he earns from selling the eggs goes right back into the operation for feed, supplies, etc. He is a very business minded young man who loves his 25 ladies!!

A pat on the back to your son! His chickens are beautiful birds and their coop and run look great! He is doing a fine job with the care of his flock.
