Expanding the run

Well I decided that the run I had was to small. Basically too short. I kept hitting my head and could not secure the area around my lilac tree. So I decided to go with an open top, go tall and larger all together.

It is about 16 x 16 and is on avg 6ft tall except in the back where it is 8.5 ft tall.

I also decided I would keep the roof area that was already there and attached so they had some added space to go to and hide when it was raining.

Now , just have to hang a water out there, add a door and close it in on the backside underneath the coop and all is good for my 10 girls. Also, making it 1/3 larger than what it was means I can get a few more birds.

Looking good! More room is always better! And your hen house is very pretty!!

Looks great very wel done! I would keep the door from the previous run in place, it can be very handy to use both spaces

The door of the old run is coming out. The open area that is in front of it will become the new door. It will attach to the existing framing that is there. But the framing that is there will pretty much stay after I remove all the chicken wire. That way the metal roof still be shade and rain cover.
