One week ago, our boxer dogs escaped their pen and injured two of our rhode islands and one sex link. The reds are recovering very well including growing new feathers and I'm sure their recovery will be complete and speedy. The sex link (her name is Shadow because she follows us everywhere), had som pretty serious injuries to her side and all around the neck. Although she seems to be doing much better, I've noticed her crop is not filling with food and she has definitely lost weight. She is eating and drinking but I'm worried she may not recover and slowly starve to death. I don't know what to do. We love all of our chickens but she is especially one of the family favorites. I don't care if he stops laying eggs, I just don't want her to suffer a death by starvation. Advice please!!

Thank you both. They free range on an acre and a half of property and despite her injuries she seems pretty happy. She was first out of the coop this morning. Will continue to watch closely and love her and hopefully she will remain with our other girls.
